Educated at the University of Miami, BBA 1966, MBA 1976, majoring in Finance with a minor in Accounting.
Mr. Easton is married and has five children and ten grandchildren. He is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and enjoys golf, tennis and jogging.
Professional
Chairman of The Easton Group, a real estate brokerage, management and development firm located in Miami, Florida since 1974, Mr. Easton oversees a company managing, leasing or owning over 4.5 million square feet of commercial real estate in South Florida. The Easton Group also has properties in North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Alabama.
Currently, The Easton Group is developing Aventura Marina Condominiums in a joint venture with The Related Group; and is in another joint venture with Lennar Homes to develop 800+ acres in South Dade for residential use. The Easton Group is also undergoing the development of two premiere master-planned business parks in Miami Dade County; International Corporate Park located in the Airport West area is 300 acres consisting of 4.1 million square feet, and Lakes Corporate Park in Miami Lakes consisting of 300,000+ square feet.
Recent Appointments
President Bush appointed Mr. Easton to the The John F. Kennedy Center Board of Trustees. He will be serving a six-year term beginning August of 2006.
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne appointed Mr. Easton to the Board of the US National Parks Foundation. He will be serving a six-year term beginning September 2006.
Civic and Professional Organizations
Mr. Easton has been actively involved in his community, serving on many boards, including: Trustee of University of Miami and past Chairman of the Master Planning Committee, overseeing all real estate interests and acquisitions of the University; past Chairman of The Salvation Army of Dade County; Trustee of Mercy Hospital; past President of the SSJ Mercy Health System, Inc.; past President of the Key Biscayne Athletic Club. He served as Co-Chairman of the Dade County Finance Committee for the election of Jeb Bush as Governor of the State of Florida. Mr. Easton was appointed, by Governor Jeb Bush in 2001, to Chair the Miami-Dade Land Acquisition and Facilities Maintenance Operations Advisory Board for the Miami-Dade County Public School System. Mr. Easton is Chairman of the Village of Key Biscayne 2020 Vision Plan Committee, Trustee of WPBT Channel 2 and member of the Florida Council of 100 and the Council for Educational Change.
Professional Associations include: Past President of the Miami Board of Realtors, Coral Gables Board of Realtors and the National Institute of Real Estate Boards.
